Colleen Whitney is a lifelong resident of Kitchener-Waterloo and she has been a licensed Real Estate Sales Representative since 1982. For 39 years, Colleen has been a full service residential realtor at WHITNEY & Company Realty.
Colleen is an advocate for client needs, she is an effective communicator, superior negotiator and is respectful of clients’ busy schedules and lifestyles. When Colleen became a realtor she already had an excellent understanding of the mortgage approval process. She first developed her in-depth knowledge at Royal Trust in the mortgage department. Colleen went on to work at a number of law firms in the Waterloo Region including Giffen Lawyers. She became proficient in the complex legal processes involved in a real estate transaction—from documentation to binding agreements and closing procedures.
Colleen joined John Whitney in June 1982, who was a broker and encouraged her to join the residential sector at WHITNEY & Company Realty. Colleen quickly learned the nuances of appraisals and appraisal reports from John’s father Richard Whitney, Broker, SIOR, who was a certified appraiser.
Colleen is a practiced negotiator, a luxury leader, she offers a wealth of knowledge, is a person of confidence; she is research focused, investigative, strategic, honest, ethical and resourceful. She listens to each client and offers customized approaches based on individual needs. Her niche in luxury, high-end residential homes has resulted in over 70 transactions in the $1Million+ value range. Colleen assists her esteemed clients in the buying and selling of new and re-sale houses, condos, tear-downs, land, development sites and country properties. She is always respectful of clients’ confidentiality, mindful of their best interests, sensitive to their lifestyle needs, and conscientious about the security and the well-being of their homes.
